My manual does not describe how to replace the lock. I have inspected the new one and do not see any apparent method of removing the old one or reinstalling the new one. Help!

Is yours like the first ones shown in these pics? If so, there have been a few Stovebolt threads about removing that type. I can search if you need, or an owner of that type may post an reply. Mine was the type where you remove the rear screw. I didn't remove it before asking for help because I was afraid that the springs and pins would fall out if I did. Removing the rear screw was the trick.
