So... will the 60-66 Forum have the burn pile ready for Saturday night? Now that you don't have to worry about getting your truck done anymore, you can focus on important stuff. Tell Mrs. HB that Granddaughter and I were next to her in traffic this afternoon down in the Park. I'm surprised she wasn't captivated by the hooptyvan ...

For Friday dinner cruise -- Any objections to Cheeseburger in Paradise? All backroads. It will be a little bit longer of a drive than last year, and we'll be coming home in the dark... Good to go?

Cheeseburger in paradise is fine by me.

With regards to food for Saturday I'm bringing 36 ice cold beers and my famous Stovebolt 6 engine dip. You all will love it.

I'm in!! Fixed all my running lights on Dempsey,let him run for about an hour, filled the water tank on the Lifeboat 2. All I need is beer and cooler, and load up some clothes.

Mike r. sounds like we need to help the burn pile. Maybe we should throw that big yellow loader leaking hyd fluid on the pile. Should burn a while.

Anything I should bring, tools or parts or what not?

Grigg -- We might need the portable band saw/chop saw. I only have my basic antique Blue Point tap and die set so if you think we might need to do any machinist type work, you might want to bring any of that. We're pretty well set, I think, for basic wrenches, hammers, pliers, sockets, etc.

Well, been pretty darn busy the last few weeks. Made a bonzai trip to Raleigh, then west and all the way up 81 over the weekend ( a couple of key stops on the way) and hopefully I can get the long list of stuff done tomorrow so I can arrive on schedule at Stovebolt HQ by night fall.
Even though the hipe has been somewhat subdued for this years homecoming compared to the previous years, I know everyone is looking forward to it. I know I am. I think it might just be because we are getting to be pros at it.
The weather is supposed to be great, hope to see all the regulars and meet some new Bolters too.

I think I'm gonna take tomarrow off. Still need to bathe 2 trucks and shine em up. Pack the Lifeboat and buy beer. I finish my heavy vehicle and machinery rescue class tomarrow. Billy may see us in the junkyard just past the old house up my way when he goes by. Hope to be down Friday morning around 9.

Been in Baltimore area for work all week, tomorrow about noon drive up to Long Island to look at an Erco kick shrinker, should put us home around midnight. Then to clean up the shop Friday for some metal shaping on Saturday....

Hate to say it, but I'm going to miss the festivities this year. A friend of mine from my Marine Corps days has an emergency project that he has to get done this weekend. He restored an old Blazer for his son and needs a few parts to finish it up before his son takes it to the prom. He's coming from Delaware and we'll be hitting Frankies on Saturday. Have a great time brothers.

Gents -- We had a monumental informal kickoff to the weekend last evening. A spectacular sunset/gorgeous Moonrise ... Mike B arriving with wheels and an engine to be off loaded ... Hambone beaming over his freshly painted baby ... the Camp Commandant's grand entrance ... Man, I can't wait for the official formal grand opening ceremony later today with the arrival of the Presidential Motorcade ... I can barely even type this as I am just all aquiver with youthful glee and excitement. I even see the Joint Colorguard (two ducks and a goose) out on the pond practicing the grand pass in review...

Mr. President, The Advance Party has everything in order and I am happy to proclaim Stovebolt *Galactic* HQ ready for Homecoming 2013!

The Homecoming is truly one of the highlites of a bolt owners year. I hate to miss it, but I hope you all have a great time... I know there will be some great chow, frosty beverages and superb fellowship.

We hope to be on the road before 3:00 and I think it's a 4 hour ride, so about 7:00.

Okay. I'll be here. The gang will take their scenic cruise about 5. Which means "who knows when really." The Alpha Group (VA guys) ate on the way. So, the Bravo group just finished up chow here. They may end up taking the cruise later. Seems they are all busy taking apart that old truck next to the shop.

Made it home this afternoon without incident. My other brothers of the Old Dominion got rain on the way home. But all made it.

Thank you again to the Milliman Family. You all open your homes to us and we are grateful for your fine hospitality. You truly make us feel at Home.

What a great time, saw brothers and met new ones too. This year we had some great folks visit HQ. I look forward to spend time again with each of you.

Another one is in the books! Can't wait for pictures!!!

hanks to everyone for their hospitality, especially the Millman's. What a spectacular setting for all those trucks!!

I had a fire hose of knowledge poring out from you all. Thank you! Now to take it all in and make a plan. And then figure out how to make the plan work. But I had a lot of incentive with rides from Cosmo and Sweet to be able to experience the end results of getting that 261 into the truck.

And then to top it off with the Leonardsville car show. That was a lot of fun.

Thanks again. You guys are fun to be around. Listing to the talk around the fire is like reading the banter in one of these threads, only in real time. It is hard not to smile and laugh!

Thanks also from me to John, Peggy and to those that grunted out the bed install on Friday. In case there was any question, I was excited like a kid in a McDonalds play land to have my big pieces together again and gas in the tank. Today I ventured on to the roads again to get the truck to its garage. Ran well again. I promise to keep the momentum to finish the door glass, grill, tailgate and accessories. Then we will toast the completion of the redo. Nice to meet new faces and brag to the old faces. Let's do it again.

Great to be back after a two year break. Once again thanks John and Peggy for opening up your home for all of us. Awesome to have the stovebolt recovery team available at a moments notice. You know who you are. Great burgers by master Marlow and John's beans hit the spot. Bones truck is looking great. Sorry we never got around to your door adjustment, but I think your going in the right direction. Cosmo, the master fuel filter rebuilder! Love the bull horn. Roache thanks for going with me to get gas.

I don't know what it is about the Stovebolt Homecomings at Friendship Forest but they are truly special. I am sure you could go back to all the post Homecoming event threads from years past and they would all sound very similar. We enjoy great fellowship, food and fun and each year have met a few new members that very quickly blend in and become part of the group.
Of course this years was no different except that we had perhaps the most perfect weather you could possibly have.
We missed the Bolters that couldn't make it this year. I look forward to the next time we can all get together again.

I would be remiss in not mentioning John and Peggy. Not only in thanks for them opening up their little slice of heaven to us this fantastic weekend but for this awesome site that brings us together.

The Pennsylvania Chapter of the ODSS located in Bucks County Pennsylvania, minutes from where General Washington crossed the Delaware.

Thank you for the kind and humbling sentiments, everyone. You all are easy keepers and it's not much of a chore and even less of a sacrifice to have you all around (thanks for helping to complete the dissection of the 470 ). Peggy and I really enjoyed the weekend.

Thanks to all who helped make it a success -- um, which is all of you. The weekend works because you all turn to and make it fun and informative for each other. Share what you know and help everyone go home knowing more than they did or helping their trucks run better, etc.

A good time because of all of you. I'm already looking forward to next year.

a little late here... I also had a great time as did the other Grigg. Thanks again to John and Peggy for having us!
It was good to see some trucks and start thinking about mine again, looking forward to working on it in a month or two.

From the looks of the pictures, it looks like good times were had by all. I can't wait to actually arrive at homecoming driving my truck. Next year? Can i volunteer my truck for next year since hambone's truck should be done from the looks of it.
