It has been several years since I have been on here, bought and sold a couple of trucks and Harley's.. But now I have finally bought my dream ride, been trying to buy it for several years with no luck finding the owner. Turns out he is from Hawaii and has been there for a while, He returned a few months back and found my note on his truck asking if it was for sale, well after one call and several emails I will be picking it up Monday. It is a 47 Chevy COE, I knew from looking at it from a distance it was on a later gm chassis with a v8 but that is all I could tell. I met him last Sunday afternoon and boy was I surprised... Not only is it a late model gm chassis, it has a create 350, turbo 350, all the power options and vintage air..It has not been moved or cranked for 9 years. My son and I put a hot battery in and after a check of all the fluids dropped some gas in the carb and she fired off..the tank is rusty so i did not run it but a minute trickling in the carb.. he drove it from Colorado in 03 with his 58 MGA on the back and parked it...top is chopped 3in's cab is stretched 10in's . I will be going through brakes, belts, hoses and everything in the next few weeks but this is gonna be one fun ride...now to figure out how to post pictures...

Nice, that sounds like a really cool ride! I have a 41 and wanted to do something like that to it untill I realized that it's in good shape.So I'm gonna drive mine stock for now. As far as pictures go you need to put them on the bucket or something simular and create a link for them. I'd really like to see it.

Thats pretty cool! If you don't mind what did it set you back? I like the hood emblem style, and the swept front headlights better tan mine. It's very cool that it's already in primer and looks really straight. What year did they switch the headlight styles?

I think those headlight housings are from a pickup.

I am not sure what parts are stock and what is not, I am going to pick it up Monday and try to get info for owner on who built it, all he remembered was he bought it in Colorado somewhere.I am hoping when I pick it up he has some more info for me..

pte,thanks, trying to get a good idea on what their worth in different stages of completion/modification. I pulled mine out of the weeds for 2k. But he is a friend and I believe he gave me a great deal,, or just didn't realize how good of shape it was in?

Well I got to go pick the old girl yesterday, today the cleaning process begins...She has been sitting under a shed for 7 years with the windows down so you can imagine the amount of dust she has..got her sitting on jack stands, floor pans out and wheels off, and the steam cleaner ready to go...Posted pictures on my Facebook last night and already someone want to use the old girl to leave their wedding later this summer..This is gonna be a fun truck...

So for I discovered it is sitting on the factory frame, still has wood blocks between cab and mounting brackets, It has a late model 12 bolt truck rear and front clip welded in from same donor truck.
Top chopped 3in cab stretched 10 in behind the doors.350 create engine turbo 400 trans, and so far everything including the vintage a/c unit work..will change out fuel lines and tank today so I can crank it without pouring gas in carb..

If anyone knows any info about this truck let me know...It was purchased in Colorado in 2003 all the work was done when purchased then.

Well almost done with the cleaning up the wire nest under the dash, turns out it has and aftermarket complete harness that was not wrapped or run in any uniform direction..Got most of it sorted out, zip tied, and all the excess cut out and new ends put on..the mechanical fuel pump has been sitting dry for 7 years so I did not even try to pump gas through it just put a new electric one in line and she fired up on the first spin, 80 # oil pressure..I let it run for about 10 minutes and it started getting some heat built up so I decided to check the thermostat and sure enough it was not opening but the antifreeze was still bright green, went on and flushed the system out and will pick up new stat and Gasket tomorrow..It will be on to the brakes so I can ride down the road next weekend..

That looks like a 41-46 but maybe that's a late 46 called a 47. I thought the 47 was a different style. It woodn't be the first time i'm wrong. noel good lookin truck. good find
