Other than Vintage Wiring of Maine does anyone know of a business that will cloth braid a harness you send them?

My truck is a military vehicle and no one has off the shelf harnesses. I bought a custom one and for the price I was not super impressed.

Chevs of the 40s, Classic Part, The Filling Station and Jim Carter (and probably other reproduction truck parts vendors) sell braided wiring harnesses. Most likely they source them from one of the three other companies listed above (some of the other companies above might be sourced by another company above).

I have purchased wire from Rhode Island Wire but didn't know they did braiding.

Sadly, none had the the proper flag terminals. They all use modern items that look horrible.

I doubt anyone will [or could] cover a completed pre-made harness, the braiding is done as the harness is made up, before the terminals are attached

I can add the terminal ends, soldering is not a big deal.

I have read articles about making a harness (layout, buying the cloth covered wires) but they simply say 'then I sent it out to get braided'. They never said WHERE.

I just payed $1200 for a custom harness and the terminal ends are crap... cheap made in china terminals that look NOTHING like the originals. So now my only option is to take the terminals off the original harness, remove the terminals from the new, $1200 professionally done harness (that claims to use NOS parts) and solder on the proper type.

As usual, if you want it done right, doing it yourself is the only option.

I used Rhode Island on my '51 3100, and was very happy with the product. Terminals were installed and were period correct. Not the cheapest out there, but you get what you pay for. I would use them again.
