I am hooking up my fuel gauge on my '54 3100 and I'm wondering which side of the gauge to connect the resistor to. The ignition side or the tank side?
Thanks, John

Ignition side is where I put the resistor.

Yes, it is attached in-line on the input side of the gauge (some fuel-gauge reducers/resistors have an additional ground lead).

Also, if you have a Runtz-style resistor/reducer it has a power-in side and a power-out (to the gauge) side.

Where did you buy the resistor/reducer and what is the part number?

The resistor was on the gauge when I bought the truck, so I have no idea what brand it is.
Just spent the winter repainting my dash and gauges. While I was putting stuff back together last night, I was reinstalling the resistor as it was from the previous owner. He had it on the tank side, which made me think that was wrong. It would make more sense to be on the power side.
Thanks for the help guys.
