What I can tell you is that the "CAT NO is 515E" and the "Serial NO is TA83219". What's got me is the Model NO is blank, first I thought it was just wore off from time, but closer inspection shows that it was never struck with a number. Does this information help decode this thing? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 1,177 Red dot, center of chest ... | | Red dot, center of chest ... I believe they are rated at 4 tons per boom. E indicated it had the optional Axle Cradle. The serial number TA83219 breaks down as follows. T = 515 Traffic King (model and name) A = January 8 = 1948 (T models were made from 1940 thru 1953) 3219 = unit number (numbers went from 319 to 6378) If I missed anything Spanky will straighten me out! ShovelDan !, Got anymore pictures of the whole truck? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 | Yep, but I warn you that it's on a Ford. I posted them in the welcome center, I can repost them if need be. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 | I saw them. Seen that couple For Sale myself, I think on Craigslist. What are your plans for the wrecker unit. It's a short wheelbase Traffic King model 515E. Most 515's have the tool compartment in front of the mast. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 | my plans were to set the Wrecker bed aside and sell the trucks. Do you have a clue what the bed alone is worth? I have a few other projects to finish before i can get to the wrecker. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 | Need to see a few more pictures of it closer up. Fender, & running board condition is very important. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 | You have an email I can send them too? Sadly the 515 has lost it's ID tag and the Holmes name plate :< ( At least I was able to get the manual for it on ebay . | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 8 | Did you recieve my email? | | |
