Anyone know of a good chemical paint stripper? I will have two bumpers and a set of bumper guards that will need to be stripped before I paint them. I can't seem to find anyone in my area who does any kind of media blasting. Thanks.

Klean Strip 'aircraft paint stripper' may be available at a parts store near you, otherwise something like PolyStrip you can get at a hardware/paint store will do fine - and for what you're doing it's a better alternative than blasting

I'm not sure if you get Nitromors on your side of the pond,it is very effective but you need to make sure the panels are meticulously cleaned afterwards.

I had some paint issues with an o/t car paint job after using it.
Probably my fault in the end.......

Thank you both. I will look into these products. I'm glad to know that a chemical stripper is a good alternative to blasting.

Just be sure to research how to properly neutralize what ever stripper you use as most quality Epoxy primers have issues with chemical strippers acid residue. Neutralized no problem. Un neutralized major pain sometimes months down the road after you 'thought' you were finished...
If your using rustoleum, summit or eastwood quality of paints disregard my warnings...

don't understand the problem Denny, they discontinued the product because there wasn't enough demand or some aspect of it didn't comply with current EPA regs, happens every day, nothing to do with the quality of 3M products or service .... chemical paint strippers are all about the same, I've never had a problem with Polystrippa or whatever the hardware store has cheap at the time .... GM quit making Advance Design trucks, gonna never buy anything GM again??

You may want to look into Norton paint stripping discs. I use them on a large electric grinder and couldn't believe how well they work. They eat right through the multiple layers of paint and bondo and don't touch the metal. They come in different styles of attachment. I prefer the threaded ones made for electric grinders. I have tried the knock-off brands and found that they don't last as long.
