on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 19 | I came home from work. Didn't have any plans. Thought to myself. I should change that old wire from the negative coil to the distributor. It is old and frayed.
Made a new wire with nice terminals.
Change the wire and the truck wouldn't start.
Put the old wire back on and the truck started as per usual.
Reached in to make sure one spark plug wire was on tight to the cap.
Got a big shock. I think it was from the old frayed wire.
Turned off the truck change the wire again. This time the truck started.
Clueless on how the shock from the old frayed wire allowed the new wire to work.
If you are a fan of car talk (Click and Clak the Tappet Brothers), they have a theory called the embolden electron theory.
Maybe I just needed some bolder electrons to go down the new wire.
