I was just wondering if i can just run pump gas in my 3800 or if i should be using a lead additive. Also wondering what is the best type of oil to run in the engine? Its all stock.

i run straight gas in all three of my trucks. on occasion i drop some MMO in just to stimulate my brain yahoo i dont have a clue if it helps the motor but it hasnt hurt.

since i have had all my engines rebuilt i run shell rotella 15-40.

the oil question is a great debate. what's the condition of your engine and how dirty is it inside headscratch

Also, if non-detergent oil had been used, you could have sediment in the pan. I'd pull the pan and clean it out before using modern multi-grade "detergent" oil.
