Tore it all down cleaned it up inspected it all.Not a nix or a scratch on any gears or teeth or shafts. However the rear bearing support and the contact area on the yoke are a mess. Can any one tell me if the bearing support has a bushing that can be replaced or the support is just replaced with a new yoke.It looks like there is a brass insert that is worn real bad and the support is not made out of brass . The yoke has some major scoring. I think i found my rattle when i start out in first gear, the tube cover over the uni joint was not loose at all. In fact it was major tite and could have been the cause of the damage with the bearing support.

There is a brass bushing in the rear support.
Originally the support and bushing would have been replaced as one unit.
The OD of the bushing is a standard size(don't remember the size right off). I have bought bushings from a bearing house that fit the OD and have a smaller ID than original. I then turn the yoke down to fit the new bushing ID.
If your yoke is not to bad the replacement bushing can be bored out to fit the yoke.
