Just converted my 54 to 12 volt. Took 6 volt to 12 volt out of radio power. Wired 12 volt radio to 12 volt supply. Lot of engine static now. What would be a good suppresser? Has new composite plug wires and worked fine before.

Since you probably changed the generator and regulator I'd check those first. The condensors should all be checked or installed if none are in place now.
