Looks like I'm playing catch-up today for posts...

Anyway, while I was driving my '57 3100, the heater core let go...steam came out the defroster vents, coolant pouring out of the heater box.

I searched the shop manual online, but couldn't find anything on removing the heater core...

So how do you do it?

Thanks...

heaters are in the 57 accessories installation manual, but there's no place that shows construction/repairs .... specifics depend on which heater you have, but you need to remove the heater from the truck and disassemble the case, all of which should be pretty obvious after consulting that manual .... maybe some help on the deluxe version in the heaters album linked below

I'll pop the hood on my '57 to take a look, but as I recall, there were just studs on the heater box, that went through the firewall.

You are absolutely correct. After eyeballing it for 15 mins or so, I pulled out the battery, the firewall mounted battery box, undid all the studs and pulled out the heater core box.

Guess I lucked out on that one...

Yeah and you can't do a heater that fast in a lexus.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

As of 10-26-2022, A 55.2 Taskforce long bed now the work begins
