Hello, I swapped out my 1940 216 with a 1958 235 and installed the short water pump with the shallow pulley and 235 fan that uses a spacer not the 53-54 short shaft that uses the 216 fan.(Water Pump Picture) is the short shaft water pump with the 53-54 pulley and 216 fan shorter than this one?
I need like 1 1/2 to 2 inches of clearance to get the radiator on. Has anyone every installed a 58 235 in a 1940 master deluxe? It looks like the same radiator housing as a 41-46 truck. This is a link of the front of my engine link I was thinking of cutting the top of the radiator support to take off the top to slip the radiator down and mount the radiator on the inside of the radiator support instead of the outside. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

this might help http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/engine_swap_216.htm

when i put a 59-235 in my 51 dump i used the adaper plate and the same style of pump and had no problems. clearence was a concern with a tight fitting fan shroud.
