Hello,

Would anyone know the paint code for the 1954 Chevy truck original outside visor underside paint.
I know its some kind of green color to reflect sun glare.
Is there a way to take a paint/chip sample and have it tested to find out the paint code?

It is kind of a flat light green color. MT sent me pictures of an NOS visor. It is my understanding that they leave the underside the green color as you mentioned for reflectivity reasons.

A good PPG dealer will have a Prophet/RapidMatch Spectrometer/color-analyser. If you can bring the visor to them, they should be able to give you a paint code for no cost/charge.

The paint on the bottom of my Fulton was really close to OD green.

I went to my neighborhood PPG dealer and they tested the 1954 Chevy truck visor underside paint.
The results are shown below on two labels:
label A
label B
The results are just data from the RapidMatch X-5 Spectrophotometer, I have not mix any paint yet, to match up with the actual original underside paint sample I provided.
According to the PPG dealer the results are a fairly accurate and might need a little tweaking to get a exact match if needed.
It would be helpful if someone can decipher what the data means?
My next step is to possibly mix a small sample to see if it matches the original underside paint sample.

If anyone missed the above post, because it was blank.
I had to removed the TM logo, it was creating a blank post.
Editing out the TM logo does not fix the blank post.
I had to delete the post completely and create another.
The TM logo that is to the right of the word RapidMatch on this PAGE
copy and paste the TM into the compose a post box and it will blank out all the words after you submit the post.

The first post shows the closest color that the formula matches in it's library.

The second one is the "meat and potatoes". It lists the pigments by their name and code. Then it tells how much pigment by weight there is of each and the last column is the cumulative weight. Basically, they put the empty can on the scale and zero it out. They add the first pigment until it gets to the weight shown, the second pigment until the next cumulative weight is reached and so on. When all is done, you have a can full of paint ready to be shaken to mix.
