The problem is I am not getting any reading from my gas tank to show me how much fuel I have in the tank. Anyone have a quick check that I can do to find out the problem? I am also having trouble with the light on the dash, speedometer and temperature reading. Please contact me at [email protected] or leave a reply here. #92934 09/13/2005 3:10 PM | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 | i would assume bad wiring or a blown fuse or two in the instrument cluster. try taking a test light to check the power at the guages, if no power trace back till you find the problem. as far as the gas gauge its either the gauge or the sending unit. you may have a mismatch if the previous owner changed the sending unit or the gauge. thats what i'm dealing with. incorrect gauge purchased by my PO and my gauge reads full all the time. good luck | | |

Turn on the switch & the gauge should go way over on full. Ground the wire & the gauge should go to empty. If that works the problem is the sending unit in the tank. Be shure there is a ground wire from the tank to the body.

If your tank is behind the seat it,s real easy to pull the sender out & hook up the wires & move it through it,s travel & watch the gauge.
