I'm doing a frame off resto on my 61 Apache and can't find the tar paper like material used to insulate the cab between the gas tank and the rear of the cab. I've searched all the sources on line and do not like the offerings. I'm trying to keep the truck as original as possible. The 50# roofing paper was my choice if I could not find a reproduction piece.
That insulation was part of the "Custom Comfort Option" from the factory. Boy have things come a long way from a piece of tar paper being an extra option.
Custom Comfort Option - left arm rest...right-hand sunshade...chrome cigar lighter...full six inch foam rubber seat cushion with special trim...special cab insulation...left-hand door outside key lock.
Any body know what that option cost in 1961???

The extra insulation can also be found, in the form of jute insulation, adhered to the underside of the dash, from the cardboard cover, to the intersection with the dash shell.

I found that description of the "Custom Comfort Option" in a sales handout... No prices are listed. I don't know were the R.P.O. prices are listed.
