my truck is a 1.5 ton I believe it is a 1941 or close to it, the engine number now is BDR 15592, I'm not 100% sure if the motor has ever been changed but I see on the original ownership papers that came with the truck it has another number BFR 246846, this number has been crossed out, not sure if this was a mistake originally or if this may have been the original motor?

The only codes I can find that are close are for 1942. BD comes up as a Flint produced 216 for a 1/2 ton pickup, BF is also a Flint produced 216, but for a 1.5 ton Conventional cab truck. I couldn't find any codes with an "R" as part of the code, perhaps it might have to do with the truck being an Export model?

Thanks, I've been out & checked the number on the engine it definately has th R on the block, it is a 216, its not a pickup so there may be the chance that the engine was changed at some stage from the original BFR to the BDR code

Are the specs different between the BF & BR engines?

Are your numbers machine or hand stamped? The "R" could be "replacement"...
