I recently purchased a 55 3200 stepside that had been sitting in a yard for about 15 years without any maintenance . I 'm in ithe process of restoring it back to a daily driver. Stripped it down to the frame and now in the process of putting it back together.
The engine was not original and is a 283. Everything else is pretty much original except the trans. Which is a 4 speed Muncie.
The engine was frozen solid and after busting it apart, I might be able to rebuild it. Its a 1962 model 283 with stock heads and a two barrel cab.
I been thinking about rebuilding the 282 and installing a Edelbrock intake and three duece setup.
Might be little over kill on the carbs but thought it would look great and the engine and carb setup Is kind of within that time frame .
Trying to keep everything else pretty much stock, lots of chrome on the engine and air of course, but without the original engine and trans, thought the 283 with the tri power setup would look pretty cool. Any pros or cons on the engine, suggestions ect..
