sooner, The amount shown on the last post was probably only the US production. I'm not even sure they were built in Canada.
I have a 1939 Chevrolet Suburban, but it was built in Tarrytown NY and imported about 30 years ago. You might be better to ask that question in Old Autos, the Canadian newspaper.

Stan, I think you are most likely correct. Too bad that link did not explain better where they got the data and if it is for USA or Canada.

because that site lists truck models as 3xxx numbers, it's not likely to include Canadian production [if any], as CDN models used different numbering

I can tell you how many Chev trucks were built in Canada in 1939. There were 10873 built, but no breakdown as how many of each model.
I have a list of all makes of GM cars and trucks built in Canada from 1908 to 1966 by make only-no further breakdown. ie; from 1923 to 1936 there were 1,970 Cadillac's built in Canada. Also listed are discontinued cars and trucks. If anyone would like a copy, please e-mail me and I will forward a copy.

ps, I worked at GM Canada for 37 years in Manufacturing Engineering.
