on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 45 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 45 | Hello! I've been visiting here fairly often for a number of years but had no truck to ask questions about. We are a Vintage VW restoration facility for over 35 years and have always has a desire to own a 55-57 Chevy truck. I finally founs a decent and affordable 3600 in a neighboring state and have been working on it for a couple of weeks.
It has a new exhaust back to the muffler that terminates just ahead of the axle. Would the proper tailpipe go over the axle and straight back on the left side or exit to the left just behind the tire? I have to make a pipe and want to do it right. On my '94 2500 I made the duals exit the sides behind the tires so I wouldn't choke on exhaust when loading or hooking up the trailer. The '55 I just want to be correct.

Should the 3600 tailpipe cross over to the passenger side and then exit right out under the bumper? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | according to the assembly manual that appears correct
