I just bought a '55 3600 second series. The wire harness and associated electrtical system were a rats nest however other than the battery and ignition harness the rest is in rather decent condition as far as usability.
My question is about the battery circuit and my inability to strain my eyeballs enough to figure out what powers the ignition switch or headlight switch.
Here's what I gather and please correct me if I'm wrong.
-There is a 12ga wire coming from the battey at the starter terminal that goes to the + side of the ammeter.
-There is another 12ga wire from the voltage regulator to the (-) or load side of the ammeter.
-There is a 14ga red wire from the ignition switch to the headlight switch or visa versa.

What powers the ignition and / or headlight switch. DO I simply jump from the + side of the ammeter to the B+ terminal or the starter switch or ???
Thanks,
Darby

Dr. D.,

Welcome to Stovebolt.com.

Have you looked at the 55-2nd wiring diagram. This might be what you refer-to as straining your eyes?

People with first-hand knowledge of Task Force wiring will soon post advice.

there's a bigger TF wiring diagram on Keiths site that'll be easier to read, study it awhile!! - there's also an ignition switch diagram here with location labels [6 cylinder, foot start]

I took my wiring diagram to to my office and blew it up on the printer. Easy to read now.
