Tail Lights
I'd like to put an extra tail light on the '48 3600. Was this an original option? I didn't see it in the wiring diagram. If it is an original option, how did they power it? Did it plug into the existing wiring? Trying to keep an original appearance.

The wiring diagram shows a single tail light, two wires and 4 connectors but does not specify which end is male tor female. Also, The '50-'51 diagram shows one wire as "Ribbed Rubber" and the other as "Smooth Rubber". The 48-49 diagram does not show this. Would they be the same?

Fuel Tank
On 49-53 with tank in cab, did the wire for the sending unit run along the frame and re-enter the cab near the tank?

If you know where I can view photos that would be helpful.

Thanks for the help.

Right hand tail lights were a dealer installed or owner Installed accessory they were sold as a kit with wiring, bracket and light, some states actually required them in that time period (just a couple). I am travellng so do not have access to my archive but I am pretty sure the right hand light details appear in several years of the Accessory Installation Manuals. The fuel tank wire runs under the cab and goes up to the tank through a grommet in the floor under the tank. Sorry I don't have a picture of that. You should be able to see the hole towards the driver side, the grommet is sold by most vendors.

Perhaps the 1951 Accessories Installation Manual can help with routing the wires for your right hand tail light. Can't help you with wire colors, connectors, and bulb configuration inside the housing.

Not sure what was available in '48. I saw some references to the right hand lamp in the '29-'54 MPC in groups 2.662 and 2.665, but nothing specific.
