I have been trying to figure out my signal lights for the past few months, but now it's really time to figure it out. I have a signal-stat 900 (8 wires) that was in the boxes of parts that came with my 53 GMC. I have read Cletus' tech tip over a few times and have googled for a wiring diagram or insight for the past hour and a half. I have no signal lights or tail lights on the truck but have new park/signal lights and tail lights. The tail lights have 2 wires coming out of them, and so do the park lights. I have to get signal lights aswell as brake lights (if it makes a difference). Can someone please just give me an idea of where to start or what I should do. I don't have a new harness but much of the truck was newly wired (engine and under dash) up by the PO. I have looked at oldgmctrucks.com's signal stat stuff but made no real sense of it. Maybe I'm a lost cause...wait don't answer that . Thanks.

You can hook up each light to a battery to see which one is which. The turn signal wires go to the brighter one.

Hook it to the "P" terminal of a 3-prong flasher. The rest is covered in the tech tip.
