Hello everybody, newbie here. I just purchased a 1948 one ton originally equipped with duals. The original widow makers are still on the front, the rears removed because of damage and replaced with a single modern wheel.
Looking around, including on this forum, I've yet to find a source of suitable replacements for the wheels so I can use original style 18 x 7.00 bias plys. Tires are out there, can't find any wheels.
Any ideas?

I doubt the 18" wheels you have are the Firestone RH5 "widow makers", I've only seen 18" GM wheels as multi piece wheels.

Nothing wrong with them if in decent shape, and you can find tires without trouble.

If you want a one piece tubeless alternative some 19.5" wheels probably fit, check that they fit over the drums.

Thanks for the reply Grigg. I'm probably getting ahead of myself a little here as I bought the truck through eBay and haven't seen it in person yet. The seller stated that the wheels were the 'widow maker' style but of course he could be mistaken! My home is in Hawaii and if I have to purchase new wheels and tires I would do better to buy and install them before the truck is shipped. Everything is higher priced in Hawaii to pay for the extra shipping costs.
I'm new to this forum, but can't seem to get the 'private message feature to work. Is it functional?
Thanks, Jim

I have some extra original 18" wheels. I have been planning on sand blasting the and painting them or maybe having them powder coated then putting then swapping them with the ones that are on my truck. If you can't find any, I might sell you some when I'm done with the project. Hopefully you can find someone else to sell you some. You can email me directly chris at fattiretrading dot com
