the OEM 55-59 wiper motors were mechanically controlled, the wires should go directly to the motor, a cable to the motor from the knob moves a switch in the motor that gives 2 speeds ... by using the aftermarket electric switch, you're only getting what ever speed the mechanical switch in the motor is set to, high or low -
only pic I have right now, the rusty part is the cable clamp .... the proper switch is not available repro AFAIK
