Thats another story. Had to remove the interior door stuff in order to remove the hinges. I replaced the cardboard door panel about a year ago, but it has already lost its shape. I want to replace the door panel. Looking for some ideas on a replacement panel.

I looked at aluminum and steel sheets. I was considering using the metal which would work fine. Then I decided on an upholstery shop. He showed me some samples. Gave me a phone number locally. I ordered couple pieces of black 1/16 thick ABS sheets. Its going to work great. Plan to use the old cardboard panels for a template.
Bought the panels for both doors. They were black but I dyed them to match the armrests and added the aluminum strip. The guy makes these for both the 48-55 AD & the 55-59 models and has a couple of different styles available as well as kick panels to match. Here's a link to his page if interested.

Made a pattern out of poster board and cut it with tin snips. Cost me $12.00 and looks good.
If I were doing it again I would get a piece big enough to go from the window frame down to the floor level.
1949 chev 3100 3 window. 350hp/327/m21 4 spd, 12 bolt rear, power brakes, 3" dropped axle from Sid's. Disc brakes next.
