Has anyone adapted the older wheels to a gm corporate 14 bolt? I have a 1 ton rear end from my 73 chevy that has 3:73 for gears would like to swap out for the two speed but still have the old wheels. Best ideas?

If you will consider other axles you can find newer ones that fit the old 10 lug wheels. Not a 14 bolt though.

I have a '49 IHC KB-5 w/ 5 on 8" bolt pattern, afraid to drive very far because of diff. noise, 5.38 ratio. Have 6 good Michelin tires. Got a Dana 70, 8 lug(same as 14 bolt ff), 3.73 ratio. Got a piece of steel plate about 1.5" thick. Bored I D to fit D 70 hub. Drilled and tapped 5 on 8" bolt pattern in plate. Drilled and tapped 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern in plate. Bored out 8 on 6.5" pattern(original) in D 70 hub. Used Allen cap screws(grade 9) from inside of hub threaded into plate(no room for all bolt heads outside) outside hub. Plate stays on all the time, put appropriate Budd studs in plate to attach original 5 on 8" wheels. Had for years, works fine, probably need a rotary table and large lathe to do it right. If have to pay someone to do work, probably be scared.

Grigg i think i have a line on a p30. will the stock wheels fit right on or do the centers have to be opened up? im guessing i would have to dismount the tires to have that done.

also are the wheels for the p30 lug or hub centric?

All the wheels with 5/10 lug on 7.25" bolt circle are hub centered.
You can enlarge the center bore in the older wheels to 5.25" to fit on the P30 hubs. Or use the 19.5" P30 wheels, or find 20" or 22.5" wheels from the mid 50's and later that already have 5.25" center hole.
