I pulled the covers and the dampers are still in there. I dont think they were put back in correctly. Can someone share a picture of the correct placement of the dampers in place? Also, the damper seals are very worn and I want to replace them. I see they are available. How are they attached to the dampers?
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks Jeff

Anyway here's a shot of the vent in place but missing the pin, spring and upper pivot of the vent. The pivot points are just tabs punched from the back of the two halves that make up the vent sandwich... Being as the seal is one piece of foam riveted between them. I made and JB welded a new upper tab in place for the pin to slide through and everything except the cable hold down now works on mine... I just pried it up a little to remove the cable and till snug it back down when I install. That screw holding it was just gonna fail if I tried any harder to loosen it up anymore. I can snap some more pic's if you need them showing the pin and spring. Let me know. mine's a 58 GMC fyi Since no one's posted I'l update this and fix the missing link with added photo's, driver side vent

The cable sheath gets held by the clamp. The lasso does the work so to speak.
