Cant post pics right now unfortunatly...

looking at some parts for sale. Owner says they are from a 54 chevy 3800

bumper looks like a bigger truck becuase it has double the carriage bolts and the rib shape and not smooth curvature. the core support has only 1 moutning point in the bottom and doesn't rise up high like a 54 chevy part. almost looks like a gmcshorter one. But it def has a 54 grill...

did the bigger chevy trucks use the shorter radiator top shroud like a gmc and continue the single core support from the earlier years or is this a FRANKENSTEIN?

Tj

ill try to find a way to post pics in a couple hours.

just posted some pics on my blog- cant get to flickr here.

do these fenders look like they are the longe rones than a 3800 and down would have?

can you bolt the longer fendrs on a smaller truck? (didn't 4100 have longer fenders but same frame?)

look like light truck to me .... the big bolt fenders aren't "longer", they're wider with larger wheel openings, and most years the grill is bigger .... yes, you can bolt the bigger truck fenders to the light trucks, they'll just look obviously wrong with 15 or 16" wheels in the big openings

Hy Tj_M, I think that front bumper is from at least a 4000 series truck, I'm not familiar enough with the AD trucks to know for sure about the rad support. To bad you don't have the hood to look at, if the hood comes to a point in the area where it meets the cowl/fender then it is from a truck larger than a 3000 series. I think those fenders are the large truck fenders, but that's just a guess.

thanks for the info. to me the length of the fender behind the wheel in the pic looks shorter than mine and the small style shoulder more "soft"

i didn't realize there were different size grills... that's good to know!

just added the best pics i have of hood.

any help 3B?

Im thinking its larger than 3000 series like you said...
in that case what ehre can I use on a 3800? no hood no fenders. grill?

any idea of the value of the fenders and hood? that may help me offset my shipping cost...

Tj

Hy Tj_M, I'm not a confusilator person and I don't really know what a "blog" is, but I clicked on your "blog" and looked through it, but I didn't find any pictures of a hood, sorry.

Hy Tj_M, okay I saw the hood pictures, that is a larger truck hood and fenders (the hood comes to a definate point at the junction of the cowl/fenders). The 47 - 53 big truck fenders are the same, and the 54 - 55A big truck fenders are the same, just not the same as each other, hope that helps.
