For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 | Today I cleaned grime and paint off the case and found a number stamped on the case top on the flat rearward edge. I am guessing it is a serial number???
The number is DO 21911
It's on a '46 half ton, that I believe is original to the truck.
A google search for a decoder turned up zilch. Any ideas? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 319 | http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...hevrolet-Trucks/1946-Chevrolet-Truck.pdfp 49 on serial numbers explains your question. (scroll down 7 pages) DO = regular Muncie on 3100. 21911 is production number. Numbers started at 1001 at each plant.
