I think the guage is fine as it jumps around when grounded at the other end of the lead. What I can't seem to find is a replacement sending unit and where on the engine it belongs. I think it goes in the T-stat housing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Idiot lts sender is 2 wire. Sender may be on rt side between #6 and #8.
