Title says it all. What's the best radial for the money. I see them from $64 ea to $200. Blackwall only... Some are imports from Asia and somehow that don't seem right wink Any feelings on that too ?

I'm happy with BF Goodrich T/A Commercial. I run them on my trucks and travel trailer.

I have a set of Cooper (made in USA) and ordered through the internet. I believe they ran about $80 each delivered to the door. Can't remmber the exact size, but think 235/85 R16. So far, they are doing well. Balanced out well also.

Cooper SRM II LT235/85R16 (non USA made, supposedly)

There are only a few USA made tire lines.

I thought all Coopers were made in the US. I put BFG's on my 65 and Mastercraft made by cooper on my 89, both made in the US. I wouldn't drive on imports.

I my opinion there are none. Only reason they became popular is manufacturing costs. Bias ply are better tires.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

Longboarder,

My "supposedly" statement above was based on earlier rants (by others) on this topic.

I should have also posted that "supposedly" Cooper Tire is an internationally diversified company that opened two plant in China around 2006 and supposedly most, if not all, of the Chinese tires are sold outside the USA.

I do not know if all Cooper Tire sold in the USA are made in the USA.

This statement by Cooper Tire is supposedly true: "It [Copper Tire] stands now as one of only two U.S.-owned tire manufacturers."

I'll have to diagree with that. There isn't a bias ply tire made that will out perform or outlast a radial tire. Manufacturing costs have nothing to do with it, it's simply the fact that a radial is a superior tire construction method.
Now, as far as Coopers go, they have been making some of their lower end and private label tires in Mexico. Found that out the hard way. We had special ordered a set of Cooper made tires in an odd size for a customer (we only had one in stock, it was USA made), when the 3 we ordered came in, they all said "Made in Mexico" on them. The customer refused them, as he only wanted USA made tires. We ended up selling him the next step up Cooper, which were all USA made tires.

have to agree with Longbox, have never seen a bias ply that'd hold a candle to a radial for handling or longevity, going from bias to radial is like adding power steering

"Cooper North America" sells tires from all the Cooper subsidiaries, and they have plants all over the world

I like my Yokohama 700R15LT's, being 10 ply they're a bit harsh compared to your car tires, but carry a load well and have good tall original appearance

Bought a set of Goodyear Wranglers from Walmart and absolutely love em!!! Cost me $70 each 2 years ago, but noticed last week they're up to $82 each now. Still a good buy I think!!! You'll love the way they ride.
