I found a 47 1/2 ton with the 3spd floor shift trans ,casting # 591195 I have to check to see if the splines are the same but , my question is,` I can get the trans, torque tube and rear for the swap but could I just switch the transmissions ?? or do I need to swap all ?? I know the trans floor cover will need to be changed and maybe a floor shift steering column later, anything else ?? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | The bolt pattern for the trans to bellhousing changed from 1947 to 1948, so you would need the bellhousing, trans, and torque tube assembly(47 is longer than 48-54 due to the shorter trans).
