Hello all fellow BC Bolters! I just joined up to the site in light of me acquiring a 1954 Chev 1 Ton model 1430. It's in rough shape but the price was right. FREE!
I got it running after it sat for 5-7 years at my friends place. Bought a coil, plugs, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and fuel pump all brand new for less than $150 bucks! It started right up with a little primer gas in the carb. Oh and found a few good wires around the shop to replace the old ones. Had to pull the fuel sender and unplug the pickup tube too.
I will try and post a few pics and 1 video of start up and pulling it out of the parking spot.

Last night was good when I met a guy out in the sticks who had a passenger side fender, so I went and picked it up. SCORE!! Only cost me $100 bux and he might have a line on the other side, which I need too. Anyway, I love this forum and love my new old chevy truck. I hope to get it up to par to drive and enjoy. Will keep you all posted. Until later, KEEP ON ROLLIN!

For fenders, check craigslist and the swap meet here. There are some good deals to be had.
I check Bellingham and Seattle Craigslist and always see good stuff.
Sometimes 3B will know where to get parts.

Thanks for the tips John. Ya my buddy saw the add on Craigs List so I jumped on it. I'm in no hurry as the pocketbook dictates my disposable cash!!! LOL. But will find a way if the price is right.

Basically need the driver's fender and possibly the grill. (I missed out on a Ebay auction where a mint bullnose grill went for about $150 bucks. I'm sure I will find one or spend hours pounding it out.)All in good fun rebuilding it.

Hi all - another BC Newbie here. I am in New West. I bought a 58 Panel from a guy in Squamish. Had I known the true nature of it, I would not have driven it home from Squamish! But it was an uneventful trip and it is close to roadworthy now. After extensive electrial and body work I feel I am turning the corner.

Please reach out if you are nearby.
