Looking for answers have a 58 panel truck with a 305 in it looking for a little more power and I have a 90 suburban with a 350 in it how hard and is it worth it to switch over to the fuel injection motor I know it's not old school but I can't see right now buying a 350 and spending money on one.

A lot of extra cost goes in with it. Update fuel pump system with fuel return. That's pump, tank, plumbing, filters, etc. A dry place for the computer. Reprogramming the prom if you delete some of the sub-systems. Sensor wiring to run. Some fabricating ( adding an O2 bung, etc.)

I'm in the middle of installing a tuned port in my 'Burb and I still have a ways to go!

Option 1: Switch it to Carb. Edelbrock makes manifold for that era engine to run Rochester or Holley, Get new, normal, EFI distributor, use your intank pump with regulator to 6-7 PSI and plug/abandon all the sensors. If your tranny is computer controlled, switch it out, it may not be. The fit, mounting, etc is regular stuff. As Smith says about money, this still will be money. Option 2: If the Burb runs so great, leave it alone and sell it and buy a carb engine that runs good with whatever tranny you like 700R4 or SM* or T5. 67-87 is good.

If you use parts from the wreckers - it can be done for under $200 (based on local prices). If the 350 that you want to swap in is stock and you leave it that way then their is no programming to be done.

The single hardest part is running the return fuel line, if you have access to a lift then 5/16" hard line is the cheapest way to go. If not you can still use hard line but its a pain to get in on the floor. I've done 2 swaps like this and now just pay for high pressure flex line. Single braid hyd. hose if its rated for 150 psi min. is fine.

A 88-92 full size van is a good donor for the TBI system.
