Hey guys; I have an unusual question and I am afraid I will stump all of you with this one, but please try anyway. I have found a 56 370 series 2 ton flatbed w/ factory power steering; I want to know if the 370 series trucks used a different or larger power steering sector, or if the sector would have a larger diameter pitman arm shaft or something that would make it any different than the power steering sector for a 100 series truck....so if its the same, or if the shaft diameter will accept a 100 series pitman arm, then I can install it on my 56 GMC 100 series truck - if not, I need to just buy it to go on my 56 370 series Firetruck. HELP?

I have the GMC factory power steering on my 59 1/2 ton. I believe the box and column to be different. The ps pump is the same for v8 models and can be hard to find.

Someone who has access to a Hollander Interchange manual would be able to read and find out, and I have a GMC illustrated parts book that is 4" thick and covers everything for 55-60 year models so I need to break that out and see what it shows for a 370. If the "big" trucks are different, then the GMC shop manuals will have to dedicate pages to explain the difference in rebuilding and servicing process too - I know several members have these books and can easily identify whether or not it is different....anyone got some manuals showing how to service a 370 series pwr steering sector?
