46 Chev 1/2 t, known as Okie-Have traced the problem to the fuel sending unit. (When the wire to the unit is grounded, it goes to empty). Has anyone had any experience taking one of these apart and fixing it? I've sent Mr. Jimmy enough money this year, and if I can fix it myself, that's a good thing (since I can't pontificate anymore....)

I have taken them apart but its pretty rare
you can save them. J.C. Whitney has a universal
one I used on a 40 pickup. worked real good.
