And also the area where the choke, throtle cable, oil line and temp sending line go thru the firewall also. I am trying to clean up the firewall while I do the rewiring of my truck. It looks to me that the PO use any open hole for this that and whatever.

Second what are you running off the oil sending outlet? It looks like you have a tee but all I can seen is the line going to the gauge?
Oh and is that bed original to the truck? I thought that they changed to the "Flat" style in 51?

They left the factory with the hose from the manifold to the motor, no tubing. I have a tee for the oil pressure and filter. The flat sided beds came out in 1954. | | |

Yes there was a Chevrolet accessory windshield washer for Advance Design trucks. I think it had a foot-actuated push-button up to 1954. In 1954, there was a foot-actuated pump-lever that not only "delivered" washer fluid but it also moved a cable that turned on the wipers (the wiper motor also changed in 1954).

They were a dealer installed option [ GM part # 986527 & 986404 Group # 8.798 ] & I got a few NOS units in the original GM box. Your truck looks OK Ron but you gotta get rid of all those cheesy crimped electrical terminals. Get a soldering iron & learn how to secure the electrical system properly. | | |
