M = Conventional Tandem with Gas Engine. 8 = 2-1/2 Ton 80 Series (H.D.). 8 = 157" wheelbase. 3 = Cab (body type) 5 = 1965 P = Pontiac Assy. Plant 104983 = unit number starting with 100001. I was wondering if it had a 409, that was my uneducated guess, the engine is long gone.
No power tower, the chain seen beside the transmission was from a jack shaft driven by a PTO on the main transmission.
Looked through my Spicer manuals last night and found I have both the service and parts manuals for the 6041, if I knew that before I had forgotten about them.
