Hi all

Been a while, just a quick update I road tested a 4L80E swap behind the 4200 today.

During mockup stage...

What this means is that any of the:

1) manual transmissions that bolt behind 230/292/sbc/bbc/LS using the correct bellhousing for that transmission will now bolt up to a 4200 using the bell housing adapter plate I used. Flywheels are available to do the swap.

2) automatic transmission (late PG, dual bolt pattern TH 200/200R4, TH350/400, 700R4, 4L80E and I guess the new 6 speeds)will bolt up as well - I designed the needed torque converter hub to get the job done. The hub and the bell housing adapter plate are both needed.

The reason that the 4L60E is not listed above - GM mated it to the 4200 from the factory so no special parts are needed - but some folks don't like the gear ratios in them or just like a manual trans.

One at a time the problems are getting solve to use this engine in swaps.

The GM PCM swap issues have been resolved, ended up needing like 4 wires to be tied into the vehicle harness.

The last piece that is left to do is engine mounts - but with many potential recipients - which one do you pick?
