any of the vendors sell the '58 shop manual, it covers all models - you might also find the 55-59 assembly manual useful

Be careful with the new manuals. The one I bought, from one of this big on-line parts suppliers, was a very poor copy. A many of the diagrams were unintelligible. Your best bet is to find an original, or an older copy, on eBay.

As Bill posted, there is a 1958 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual that is a standalone shop manual (it is not a supplement manual that needs the previous year's Shop Manual).

Some people like the Motors Manual for their truck's year. It is a good supplement to the GM Shop Manual, but the Shop Manual has much more model-year-specific information.

All the comments in the posts above about the quality of reproduction manuals (including the multi-year Factory Assembly Manual) are often unfortunately correct.

Has anyone here ever seen an original 55-59 Factory Assembly Manual for sale on eBay or elsewhere?

Has anyone see a 1958 truck body manual?

AFAIK there was no 'truck body' manual any TF year, maybe not any truck year, body manuals were for Fisher-produced car bodies

the assembly manual is not something GM printed, it's a later collation of Line Instructions that were originally issued to line supervisors as loose leaf binder sheets and thrown away as superseded .... the TF assembly manual as we know it was first printed by Golden State Pickup Parts founder Seth Doulten [my copy has a GSPP copyright of 1993] - all the sheets in it are dated between mid-1954 and mid-1955 so it doesn't include any "running changes" for later years and has nothing specific to the '58/9 changes
