The seller is American Classic ... they're good people. Neither one! It looks like a copy of a Holley 1904. I don't understand the rationale. There are hundreds of thousands of used Holley 1904 carbs in the world. Why copy it??? And the originals have cast iron throttle bodies. Aluminum throttle bodies are a repair job just waiting to happen. Just ask any quadrajet. Wonder if Holley granted permission? Maybe that's why they are calling it a Carter??? Jon. MOST of the original Holley 1904's were S.A.E. size 3. The 216 requires a size 2. Since these guys are advertising this to fit, possibly. If it needs different jets, pumps, etc., where do you get calibration parts?
(Opinion) even an original 1904 on its best day was never up to the 483s or 574s Carter W-1's.

It will probably start and run enough to get you around to car shows, but thats about it. It reminds me of all the Carter replacement type 4 barrel carbs everyone buys now a days. They are nice and shinny!
