on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 237 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 237 | Good morning friends... I came across some 6 lug 16" Chevy factory wheels that fit a 2k Sliverado. Being they are steel wheels, factory and chromed, I was thinking about trying them on my 64. I have a set of stock 70's rally wheels on it now but was thinking these would look better. I could get some tires the match the stock height etc.. I am not sure about the width etc.. I know that may be an issue... What do you guys thing..maybe you have tried it before?
At any rate I have not been out here in a while and wanted to say hey... i hope you all are doing good.. God bless, Michael

Measure the backspacing on the wheels you have on the truck now. If the 16" wheels have similar backspacing you should be alright. I think the backspacing on the factory steel wheels on the 1964 trucks were around 3.5 or maybe 3.75". With 16" wheels, you can probably do OK with backspacing of 3.75" if you are running drum brakes. Make sure you test fit the new wheel on the front before you hand over the cash. Here's a helpful website to learn what all the terms mean if you aren't familiar with them.
