I converted my throttle linkage from a bent rod to a threaded rod with ball stud ends, and now it is much smoother and adjustable. My local hardware store had a bin of 'miniature tie rod ends' that bolted right into the holes. I used 10-32 threaded with ball studs between the carb (Rochester B) and bell crank, and cut 1/4-28 threads on the throttle rod for a larger one. The whole setup cost me about $15 with a new spring. It is much smoother than the old setup. I used a locking wingnut to anchor the return spring on the rod.

I had issues with the old setup because of the proximity of the exhaust studs and the oil filter lines (this is a 261 with 1/2" npt lines). This solved them nicely!

Here ya go. Sorry about the grime, it seems Rochester B's like to leak if you move the throttle shaft around too much while you are hooking things up. :rolleyes:

Oh, I haven't put the return spring in the stock location yet because the little tab is missing. The linkage rod is just threaded rod bent to clear the manifolds and the ends are from the hardware store, like I said before.
