Hey guys,

I've got a '50 3100 that has factory 16" 6 lug wheels and 600x16 tires. I want to change them out to 15's. I've got a line on some 235/75R15s that are in decent shape. I'm going to be using a 3" dropped axle and 3" lowering springs in the front and 3" springs with 3" lowering blocks and front shackles for the rear susp.

My question is, will these tires work with a 15x7 wheel up front and 15x8 on the rear? What back spacing would be best for this application? Don't want any rubbing. I've built alot of 4wds, but never messed with lowered trucks. Any help would be appreciated!

It all depends on the back of the wheels. I think the rear will probably clear, but there is a good chance the front won't.

Yeah. I figured B/S is going to be key to them fitting. I think I'm going 15x6 up front with a 3.75 bs. I can always run a spacer if need be.

You'll want a 3 to 3 1/2 inch backspace. With the 235 tires, a 7 inch wide wheel will be fine, 8 inch is about the limit for that size tire. I would advise against a spacer if you can avoid it, especially on the front.

Right on. The wheels I'm lookin at have an option for 3 1/2" bs. I'll go with them. Is there a reason for not recommending spacers on the front? I've ran them on many trucks before without issues. Is it just these old trucks?

Messes up the scrub radius and will alter the included angle, which can cause issues with getting the alignment angles correct. It's not really a major issue, as long as there's enough stud length, but if it can be avoided, that's the best way to go.
