Since my 49 3100 has stock doors where in order to lock the truck you have to lock the driver's door and crawl out the passenger door and lock it with the key, I decided I wanted power remote door locks. I bought a kit on ebay for $29.00.
The first thing I discovered is that AD doors are very narrow especially up where the door lock mechanism is and also the passenger door can only be locked with the key so there is no sliding bar to engage with the power door lock. I decided instead to put the power door lock actuators behind the door posts and they would push a pin into the back of the doors to lock them. With this set up you also avoid having any electrics in the doors.
