I removed my old harness on my 50 GMC (6V, positive ground) and was planning a 12V conversion,so I bought a new harness. Now plans have changed and I want to stay with the original 6V setup. Of course, my old harness is long gone. Can I use the 12V harness in a 6V setup? Sorry, don't understand watts from amps from volts. HELP! Thanks. | | |

If you bought a harness for a 1950, call Jim Carter and ask if it will work with a 6v GMC. My guess is that you will be OK with the new harness as long as you use the larger 6v battery ground strap and starter cable.
Too bad about the alternator set-up - maybe someone else will have advice on that.
