so i went to put up my drive shaft, it looks like the correct lenght but the slip has way more teeth then then the sm319 which is weird cause it came off a truck with a sm391? any how i have a yoke laying around that fits the trans but cant figur out how to remove the slip from the drive shaft, i looked at the old chavhy car manual but couldent find it. do i need a press? arugh!!!

no press required - see picture at the bottom here, there are clips on the ends of the trunion cross, remove them and it all falls apart - don't lose the needles in those cap bearings .... the finer spline was probably on a later [68+] trans, which has a finer output shaft spline

The shaft was on a sm319 but I sold that tranny, took it to a guy has it pressout and new one pressed in!
