Just screw in some 1/4" pipe plugs with a little LocTite, and press on! They're for air pump equipped, emission-controlled engines, but there's virtually no difference from the earlier head, IMHO.

Gotta say--when I see those head bolt bosses stickin out of those intake ports--really pretty shocking even compared to a 235/261 head. Really outta be some kinda penalty for poor enginneerin like that--really disgustin. :mad: No wonder those inliner guys are cuttin out those bosses and puttin in lump ports.

I guess I could ask the rebuilder to see what they say.

Mine made a whistling noise from the exhaust ports due to the smog tube holes. I had standard brass plugs in them. One of the racing manuals said to install long brass plugs and cut the extra off in the port so you fill as much of the hole as you can. I just changed heads and the noise went away.
