Does any one have or can they ref ere me to a sight on the specs for the front leaf springs for a 49, model 3100 panel truck. I need the dimensions, length, width, and distance from eye to eye. Trying to get some helper springs made and the guy needs some specs on the springs currently installed. Recently installed rebuilt leaf springs in front and they seem to be going flat like the old ones, any thoughts.
God bless,
Dave

Not really all that expensive. Adding a helper or as I understand you to mean an extra leaf, is just a Band-Aid on the problem. If you mean you had the springs reached the shop probably annealed the leaves to reshape them and didn't get the temper right when they retempered them. Also, the reason your springs were going flat in the first place was due to fatigue. The grain boundaries were actually tearing apart a little at a time. retempering won't reform that. That’s why your better off with new material and springs from a reliable spring shop.

Heed, as usual, Denny's advice.
What are rebuilt springs? Who rebuilt them? What did they cost?

Merry and blessed Christmas
